A new report reveals that we are now one step away from the start of mass production of the new third generation AirPods.

At least seven Apple suppliers have reportedly kicked off circuit board shipments for the Cupertino company’s upcoming products, including the AirPods 3 , which are expected to be released later this year.

DigiTimes reveals that some vendors, including Semco, LG Innotek, Kinsus, Unimicron, Nan Ya, Zhen Ding, and AT&S, have all kicked off their shipments of BT substrates for next-generation Apple products including Apple Watch, AirPods and iPhone, which all adopt SiP modules.

A few weeks ago, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman and Debby Wu reported that third-generation AirPods will be released later in 2021 with a similar design to that of the AirPods Pro.

As for the AirPods Pro , the second generation with physical activity tracking will only be released in 2022, and may have a more compact design similar to the new Beats Studio Buds released earlier this month.
