A team of experts investigated what Apple said during the presentation of the new iPhones.

Apple’s new smartphones, from iPhone 13 mini to iPhone 13 Pro Max, house the A15 Bionic processor under the body . According to the Cupertino company, the chip is 50% faster than the competition and that statement led AnandTech to carry out some tests

Compared to the competition, the A15 chip is no faster than 50% as claimed by Apple. In fact, it’s 62% faster. While larger cores are more energy-hungry, they are much more energy efficient.

AnandTech notes that the cache system of Apple’s latest processor has been increased to 32MB , double the A14. This improvement keeps the competition out of the way, and is a key factor in the chip’s energy efficiency.

The performance of the Apple A15 is incredibly impressive: usually the increase in performance involves some sort of efficiency deficit. In this case, Apple has managed to reduce the power by increasing the performance, and for this the energy efficiency has improved by 17% in the peaks compared to the A14.

As for the new GPU , AnandTech calls it “absolutely amazing”, as it shows improvements well above Apple’s claims . The only criticism is the amount of throttling on the iPhone 13 Pro , which according to AnandTech depends on the new PCB design.

IPhones are usually criticized for the heat dissipation system, which does not embrace the entire body of the smartphone. However, says AnandTech, all iPhone 13 models are faster and offer a better gaming experience than competing devices .

In conclusion, AnandTech claims that the improvements of the A15 chip are significant . Have you bought iPhone 13? Do you find the same benefits reported by AnandTech tests?
