A few minutes ago, the CEO of the messaging service, Pavel Durov, finally revealed the reason for the removal of Telegram and Telegram X from the App Store. According to Durov Apple would have noticed inappropriate content in both applications and so removed them from the App Store. However, the development team is already working to bring everything back to normal, implementing various content security measures.
It is unclear what triggered this alarm within Apple systems, but it will probably be linked with inappropriate material sharing via Telegram channels and groups.
