For customers who already have Galaxy Note 7 devices, we will voluntarily replace their current device with a new one over the coming weeks.

DJ Koh, Head of the “mobile business” Samsung has revealed the results of an investigation of the numerous outbursts of Galaxy Note 7 reported since the launch of the device dated August 19.

To safeguard the health of users, worldwide the Galaxy Note 7 on the market it will be recalled . The commercialization of the device is then suspended , with Samsung which is working to replace faulty units. This replacement program will take about two weeks, according to the statement by the company.

It is a serious blow to Samsung, especially for the timing: Apple is in fact to introduce the next generation iPhone, including a Plus version (5.5 “), a direct competitor of Note 7 . Malfunctions reported by many Samsung customers, and consequent fears for their own health, will also bring many to switch to competitors, including Apple, undermining the excellent debut of the new notes on the market.
