Apple reassures its users of the high resistance of the rear glass on the new models of the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus , but its repair may even exceed the cost of repairing the display!

After launching the new Apple home smartphones, as usual, we saw the disassembly of the iFixit team confirming technical features that until then we only assumed in some respects.

From the previous generation, the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are not aesthetically different, but for a detail we all know to allow wireless charging: the rear glass. But how much does it cost in case of breakage to repair it?

Apple wanted right away to reassure its users claiming that this back front glass is actually a lot more durable than you might think, special confirmation also by iFixit.

The wireless charging coil is attached to a firmly glued reinforcement panel that in case of injury, if it is necessary to repair or replace the rear glass, it may cost no less to the end user.

IPhone 8’s rear glass rupture can not be considered as repairing the screen with AppleCare + warranty extension, which would cost $ 29 for subscription.

The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus back glass falls into the category of “other damages” so, excluding shipping and taxes, the repair cost will start at $ 99.

As Apple staff did not detect more serious damage, it would ease the repair to $ 349 for iPhone 8 and $ 399 for iPhone 8 Plus.

Although it may be unattractive to Apple’s original finish, it is nevertheless convenient to think of a cover for iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus.
