Apple has recognized that some iPhone 8 have a motherboard with manufacturing defects. Such smartphones may experience sudden reboots, locked screens, or may not turn on. In view of this, the company has launched a totally free repair program.

Units that could suffer from these issues were sold between September 2017 and March 2018 in Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, New Zealand, Macao and the United States of America. To determine if your smartphone is part of this lot, users must check the appropriate site using the serial number of their iPhone. The motherboard problems are not related to iPhone 8 Plus or other models. In case of a suitable iPhone (unfortunately!), You can request repairs at Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Providers.
