Pebble has updated its line of smartwatch presenting Pebble Time Round .
The new wearable device is an iteration of the Pebble Time, which debuted on Kickstarter earlier this year.
Pebble declares that the Time Round ” smartwatch the thinnest and lightest in the world “, with 7.5 mm thick and weighing 28 grams. By comparison, Apple Watch has a thickness of 10.5 mm and weighs 25 grams (Apple Watch Sport 38mm) and 69 g (Apple Watch Gold Edition).
The Pebble Time Round is available in Black, Silver and Pink Gold, with straps that are 20 or 14 mm. The company plans to initially launch on the market only rubber straps, metal options instead will come later this year.
With a complete cycle of charging, the battery of the new device Pebble offers two days of autonomy (less than those of the first Pebble Time). It still has the option of fast charging , 15 minutes to be precise, which guarantees a day of use. Like other Pebble, also features a Time Round e-paper display , which does not offer, however, complete water resistance.
The Pebble Round Time can be pre-ordered from Pebble.com starting today for $ 249. Shipments to Europe will start in early 2016.
