According to data released by IDC, sales of Macs in the last quarter of 2017 increased by 7.3% compared to the same period of 2016. This is a totally unexpected data given the performance of the PC market.

Six years after the last growth of the PC market, in the last quarter of 2017, an increase in sales was finally recorded. IDC forecast a decline of 1.7% for Q4 2017, but the computer market grew by 0.7 %. Although this is a small positive change for the entire market, Apple has seen a significant increase in its sales.

In the last quarter of 2017, Apple shipped 7.3% more Macs than the same quarter of 2016. A significant increase, considering the slow growth of the entire market and other competitors. The only producer able to record a bigger increase than that of the company of Cupertino was HP with an increase of 8.3%.

In particular, 5.707 million Macs were shipped in Q4 2017, compared to 5.375 million last year. The other data concerning this interesting statistic can be found in the image above.

According to information disseminated by IDC, however, this is not an increase in the demand for private individuals, but rather of companies that use computers for work.
