Kuo’s latest forecasts include an Apple display in 2020 along with a new iPad Pro with a camera system that offers a better AR experience and an iPhone SE 2 with an A13 chip and similar design to the iPhone 8
The analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is still revealing Apple’s upcoming projects. According to his field analysis and information, the Cupertino company is preparing to release its first AR viewer in the second half of 2020.
The plan would be the following: initially, Apple will work with third-party companies to release the “first round” of accessories for augmented reality compatible with iPhone. Contrary to the others, here we will not have to insert the iPhone inside but we will find a dedicated CPU and GPU as well as sufficient wireless connectivity to connect “remotely” with our iPhone.
Subsequently, when users are ready enough to accept AR technology, Apple could release its viewer, with integrated hardware, with a smaller and lighter structure than the current ones, so as to establish a higher level.
In iOS 13 numerous traces of an Apple device for augmented reality have been found but the design is still a mystery: will it be more like a pair of glasses or a helmet?
According to Kuo, the new 16-inch MacBook Pro (previously scheduled for the end of 2019), an iPhone SE 2 with an A13 chip and a similar design to the iPhone 8 will arrive in 2020, and a new iPad Pro with new cameras capable of obtaining accurate depth data on everything that is framed. Also, in this case, the novelty would be extremely important for augmented reality.
