According to a new analysis, the iPhone 11 was the best-selling smartphone in the world during the first half of 2020.

The information comes from analytics firm Omdia which recently released a list of the 10 best-selling phones globally in the first half of 2020.

The iPhone 11 is priced more affordable than the 11 Pro series, but is equipped with the same powerful A13 Bionic chip and features the same wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle cameras as the Pro models.

Around  37.7 million units were sold during the first half of the year , with the smartphone experiencing the same success as the iPhone XR, but on a larger scale. Around the same time last year, the XR was the most popular phone in the world with 26.9 million units sold, so the iPhone 11 found even greater success .

Interestingly, five smartphones featured in the top 10 best-selling phones in the first half of 2020 are iPhones.

The 2020 iPhone SE also recorded strong sales, despite being released in late April. The analyst firm estimates that around 8.7 million units have been sold.

Another interesting aspect is that the iPhone 11 Pro Max is having more success than the 11 Pro . Apple has sold 7.7 million iPhone 11 Pro Max and 6.7 million iPhone 11 Pro.

In second place we find the Samsung Galaxy A51 with 11.4 million units sold in the first half of the year, not even a third of the sales figures of the iPhone 11.
