After numerous failed attempts by Facebook to acquire Snapchat, now the giant announces the introduction of a new feature on Instagram that can not be defined differently from a shameless copy of the “Stories” function Snapchat.
Just as happened with “direct” Facebook Live, clearly inspired by Periscope, this time Facebook will leverage the popularity of their social networks to spread and develop the stories of Instagram function.
Each person will be able to upload photos and videos in a separate section with respect to the newsfeed of your profile. These media files will last up to 24 hours and then will be deleted. We can load several files that are played in a sequential manner to our friends, one after the other, enabling you to have a summary of our day, moment by moment.
The stories will appear only when available, through the circles placed in the Home. In the stories we can add clip art, writing, effects and so on, just like on Snapchat. We will also draw from the camera roll, but will only be shown the photos and videos created within the previous 24 hours.
The new feature is rolling out gradually and will arrive to all users.
