Not surprisingly, Super Mario Run was a huge success among Apple users. The game was officially released on the App Store on December 15, during the first day of availability has been downloaded more than 10 million times and generated more than 4 million dollars in revenue.
The news was shared by analyst firm App Annie,  which suggests an interesting comparison with GO Pokémon , another title that has achieved incredible results but has a revenue model different from Super Mario Run:

It is important to keep in mind that Super Mario and Pokemon Run GO can not really be compared. Pokémon GO follows a freemium model with optional in-app purchases to get revenues. Super Mario Run, however, offers a single in-app purchase from $9.99 to unlock the entire game.

Pokémon GO seems to have the papers in order to continue to generate optimal revenues over time, as opposed to Super Mario Run, which “runs the risk” to record important revenue only in his first life cycle . Die hard fans of the iconic character from Nintendo will have unlocked the entire game without a second thought, but casual players probably not. Not everyone is in fact willing to spend about $10  for a game for mobile devices.

Another negative note , you will have convinced many users to not unlock all levels, is the need to be connected to the Internet in order to play . A factor to be reckoned with, especially considering the cost of $9.99

What are your considerations on Super Mario Run? And those who have unlocked all levels? Have your say in the comments.
