Leaker Jon Prosser shared new and interesting details about the HomePod mini and the new Apple TV.
According to trusted leaker Jon Prosser, HomePod mini and the new Apple TV will both be able to track our position in order to improve the HomeKit experience.
Prosser claims that the two devices will become ” Ultra-Wideband Base Stations ” capable of accurately tracking the position of devices equipped with the Apple U1 chip. The HomePod mini and Apple TV will use location information for multimedia controls, brightness and volume controls, and locks, effectively transforming regular Apple hardware into HomeKit hardware.
For example, thanks to tracking, the system could close the doors and / or turn on the lights while we walk inside our house. In addition, this new feature will be used in the app Where , which will be able to understand when we move away from home and warn us if one of our devices is moved or taken away.
