A huge leak reveals pretty much everything there is to know about the 4 new iPhone 12!
As we announced in the article dedicated to HomePod Mini, a lot of information on the new iPhone 12 has leaked on Weibo. We can add this information to that provided by Jon Prosser, according to whom all 4 models will be presented during the event but only 2 can be pre-ordered from October 16th and delivered on October 23rd, the other 2 will arrive later.
Let’s proceed in order:
The iPhone 12 Mini will have a starting price of $ 699 which should translate into € 749 for us Italians. The iPhone 12 instead, will cost $ 799 and both will be available in the colors: black, white, red, blue, and green. Moving on to the Pro instead, the prices will be the same as the current models although neither wall charger nor EarPods headphones will be included in the package: we are talking about € 1189 as a starting point for the iPhone 12 Pro and € 1289 starting for the iPhone 12 Pro Max. The Pro models will be available in 4 colors: Silver, Graphite (a little darker than the classic Space Gray), gold, and blue. The blue will therefore replace the current “night green”.
All 4 models will have support for the 5G network , hence the name of the event “Hi, speed”. Apple will also show a commercial during the event linked to a function called Smart Data Mode . Basically it seems like something capable of using the 5G network only when needed rather than full time. When downloading large files, for example, the function activates 5G to speed up download times, resulting in battery savings.
All 4 models will be able to record directly in Dolby Vision and will support more powerful wireless charging.
The photographic sector will be an essential point on which Apple will talk a lot. The iPhone 12 Mini and iPhone 12 will have two cameras (1x and 0.5x). Deep Fusion and Night Mode functions will be improved on both models for even more precise shots despite the “only” two cameras. Smart HDR will also be updated to version 3.
On the Pro models instead, we will find 3 cameras (1x, 0.5x, and a third capable of providing an optical zoom which will be 4x on the 12 Pro and 5x on the 12 Pro Max ). There will also be LiDAR scanners on both Pros but the Max model will have a 47% larger sensor than the 12 Pro which means more light will enter and take better photos.
