Here are the main reasons that push Android users to switch to iPhone, according to a survey

Usually, during the conference on financial results, Apple CEO Tim Cook talks about the growth of iPhone users, obviously citing also those that come from Android smartphones. A new survey by PCMag allows us to deepen the topic, trying to reveal what are the main reasons that lead users to switch from Android to iOS and vice versa.

According to a survey in which 2,500 US citizens participated, 29% of those said they changed their mobile operating system . 11% of this slice has gone from iOS to Android, while 18% the opposite. The main reason for the switch, according to the survey? The price!

The majority of smartphone users who have changed the operating system – 18% – has moved from Android to iOS. Only 11% did the opposite. (We did not ask for Windows Phone or BlackBerry). Obviously, the remaining 71% did not change OS.

29% of users who moved from iOS to Android (11%) said that the decision was made for “the best price”, while 11% of those who switched from Android to iOS said the same thing. Instead, 6% of iOS-to-Android switchers said the main reason for this change is the number of apps available on the Google operating system.

The only area where Android has achieved a higher percentage is customer service. In fact, 5% of those who moved from iOS to Android cited “a better customer service” as the main reason, 3% instead for the opposite.

In addition, 47% of users who switched from Android to iOS confirmed they did so for “a better user experience”. 30% have left iOS for the same reason. The switch to Apple’s operating system is also due to “better features” such as camera and design, as well as faster software updates (and there’s no comparison with Android).

Other information that emerged from the survey: when we asked people who changed the operating system or who are considering the idea of ​​doing so, most said they were not interested in launching a new smartphone (56%). 34% buy a new smartphone just launched on the market when the contract ends, while 17% when it breaks the display of the current device. In fact, when survey participants were asked how often they change their device, more than half (53%) have confirmed that when the smartphone breaks down.
