Two weeks ago, Google said it would update their apps within a couple of days.
As of December 8, Apple requires developers to update their iPhone and iPad apps with the new App Store privacy label requirements, to provide insight into the type of data users collect.
Privacy labels are available for all apps for iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV and Apple Watch and include three sections that cover data used to track us, data linked to us, and data not linked to us, which is anonymized .
The data linked to us includes information such as name, age, gender and more, which are usually provided when creating an account. Unlinked data refers to things like diagnostic data that doesn’t contain personal information.
Many app developers, like Facebook, have updated their apps to include privacy labels, while Google hasn’t updated their apps yet. The last time a Google app for iOS was updated was on December 7th.
On January 5, Google said the data would be added to its iOS apps within a couple of days, but it hasn’t released any updates so far.
The company hadn’t provided a release date for updates to its apps, but typically updates apps for iOS constantly and has continued to release new updates for their Android counterparts.
