WhatsApp is finally releasing the Dark Mode on iOS and Android. After months of beta testing on both mobile operating systems, the dark mode is available for all users starting today. If system-level dark mode is enabled on iOS 13, WhatsApp will apply the dark theme automatically.
Facebook has changed WhatsApp’s Dark Mode to make sure it reduces the brightness of a phone’s display. ” During the tests, we found that the combination of pure black and white creates a high contrast that can cause eye strain,” explains a WhatsApp spokesman. “ So, you will notice a special dark grey background and an off-white colour that reduces the brightness of the screen, reduces reflections and improves contrast and readability. “
The dark theme of WhatsApp will be mainly black on iOS devices and a dark gray on Android.
