Consumer Reports has published its updated list for the “Best Smartphone Cameras” category. This agency, often accused of being anti-Apple, has now judged iPhone X and iPhone 8 as smartphones with the best cameras.

Consumer Reports has stated that all 10 smartphones tested by the editors have obtained good results, we are talking, in particular, the evaluation of resolution, dynamic range, color accuracy and noise in photos. At the top of the ranking, as mentioned, we find iPhone X and iPhone 8. Unfortunately, CR did not explain why iPhone 8 got the second position, surpassing the Plus version.

Even Samsung’s Galaxy S8, S8 + and S8 Active got a good result, but they were beaten by the offer of the eternal rival Apple. In the Top 10 appear, in addition to the last three iPhone launched on the market, also iPhone 7, 7 Plus and 6s Plus.

Following, the Top 10 :

  1. Apple iPhone X
  2. Apple iPhone 8
  3. Apple iPhone 8 Plus
  4. Samsung Galaxy S8 +
  5. Apple iPhone 7
  6. Apple iPhone 6s Plus
  7. Samsung Galaxy S8
  8. Samsung Galaxy Note8
  9. Apple iPhone 7 Plus
  10. Samsung Galaxy S8 Active

The Consumer Reports ranking obviously does not include Samsung’s Galaxy S9 and S9 +, presented only a few days at Mobile World Congress 2018. It will be interesting to see how the new top of the South Korean company will be included in this ranking, and if they can overcome Apple’s, iPhone X.

What do you think of the Consumer Reports ranking? Do you notice heavy absences (for Pixel 2)? Say yours in the comments.
