The designer Parker Ortolani shared a new iPad mini concept, imagining how Apple could reduce the device size by 20% compared to the current version.
While rumors are circulating about a new iPad mini arriving in early 2021, Parker Ortolani has shared a new concept that shows what a redesigned iPad mini could look like .
Ortolani’s concept imagines a model that is almost 20% smaller than the current generation. In this scenario, Apple would maintain the same 7.9-inch display but would drastically reduce the size of the frame. Basically, this would be an iPad Pro mini , with a square design and Face ID instead of Touch ID.
Reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has suggested that Apple will release a new iPad mini with an 8.5-inch to 9-inch display during the first half of 2021. Realistically, there are two possibilities here. The first is that the company could simply plan to increase the device’s screen size or, alternatively, it could reduce the size of the iPad mini’s bezel to include larger 8.5-inch or 9-inch displays in a factor of shape similar to the current 7.9-inch version.
In this case, the overall footprint of the iPad mini would remain the same, but there would be a larger screen flanked by smaller bezels.
