Clubhouse is enjoying great success.

According to new data released by mobile analytics and data company App Annie, Clubhouse has now surpassed 8 million global downloads, despite still being in prelaunch mode, which is by invitation only.

For those unfamiliar with it, Clubhouse is an audio-based social media where users can only talk and/or listen. The company describes itself as “a new kind of voice-based social product that allows people around the world to talk, tell stories, develop ideas, deepen friendships and meet new, interesting people around the world.”

High numbers can be related to multiple influencers and high profile people interacting with other users on the social network. For example, Tesla founder Elon Musk and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg have already created a Clubhouse account and interacted with other users. Other celebrities also use the app daily.

These numbers become even more impressive when you consider that Clubhouse is an app only available on iOS and requires an invite.
