A new report reveals Apple’s plans to adopt OLED displays on larger devices.

According to a new report from DigiTimes , Apple will release the first iPad and MacBook models with OLED displays in 2022.

According to the report, the first of these devices to adopt an OLED display will probably be a 10.9-inch iPad . The device is expected to go into production in the fourth quarter of this year with a launch scheduled for early 2022. In addition to the new tablet, the source says Apple will later release a 12.9 ″ iPad Pro model and a MacBook. 16-inch Pro with OLED display.

Rumors about adopting OLED displays on larger Apple devices began to surface a few months ago, coinciding with those about mini-LED displays. However, DigiTimes says the two technologies will coexist “each targeting different customer groups.”

Several sources have said that the 12.9-inch mini-LED iPad Pro will arrive in the first half of this year, followed by the 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro models in the second half of 2021.
