Ming-Chi Kuo, a reliable analyst currently with TF International Securities, believes that Apple’s future will depend on the launch of the so-called Apple Car and an AR viewer.

The analyst said the Apple Car will be launched between 2023 and 2025. The rumors on the car have been around for some time, then swept by the rumors of a “solo” software for autonomous driving to be licensed to third-party manufacturers (similar to CarPlay). But apparently, Apple would be thinking about both. Here are the 4 points of Kuo-thought:

The reasons are as follows: (1) a potential strong demand for renewal of the automotive sector, with a redefinition due to new technologies. It is the same situation of the smartphone market of 10 years ago; (2) the benefits of Apple’s technology leadership could redefine cars and differentiate Apple Car from rival products; (3) Apple’s service will grow significantly by entering the huge car market through Apple Car, and (4) Apple can achieve better integration between hardware, software and services compared to competitors in the electronics market and potential competitors in the automotive sector.

But that is not all. Kuo, in fact, believes that Apple will add a new product to its line-up with an AR viewer. According to the analyst, this could be presented in 2020. An idea that has its own because and above all the basics. The Cupertino company is indeed working hard on the software implementation of augmented reality through ARKit. The next logical step should, therefore, be a product that combines software experience and hardware.
