According to a new report, Apple is preparing to launch the AirPods Studio, the new over-ear headphones with active noise cancellation and much more.
Although Apple has its own line of Beats headsets and accessories, the company did offer third-party headphones in its stores, but that has now changed.
A new report from Bloomberg reveals that the company no longer sells rival earphones, headphones or audio accessories, as it is preparing to launch new AirPods Studio .
Bose, Sonos, and Logitech accessories are still available at Apple physical stores while stocks last, but have been removed from the Apple Online Store. Searching for these products on the company’s website produces no results. Shortly after the news of Apple’s move, Sonos shares fell 7%.
According to some sources, the company has asked employees to remove competing headphones and other audio accessories from the shelves, so as to advertise only the HomePod, AirPods and the future model of AirPods Studio.
This isn’t the first time Apple has removed a product from its store before introducing a competitor in the same segment. In 2014, the company removed Fitbit products from its stores soon after announcing the Apple Watch, as well as some Sonos devices after the introduction of the HomePod.
According to rumors, Apple will announce its over-ear headphones with active noise cancellation and more by the end of the month.
