Apple has initiated orders for the production of an intelligent speaker stand-alone based on Siri will become the rival to Amazon Echo.

The Inventec Corporation of Taiwan, working with Apple in the production of AirPods, received orders to make an intelligent speaker that could be presented during the WWDC in June.

For some time they have followed here with a stand-alone device with integration of Siri. Now KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that Apple will present the speaker in the second half of the year.

According to Kuo the speaker will have a computing power similar to that of the iPhone 6s and an audio sector consists of a woofer and seven tweeters. The product will be intended for a high-end market with higher costs compared to rival Amazon Echo.

On Twitter the Australian leaker Sonny Dickson wrote that Apple would be very close to the final design of the device.

According to his opinion would resemble a larger version Speaker Google home. The top would be concave, like a Mac Pro.

Some rumors state that the device would have a facial recognition system that allows you to recognize users. This aspect, however, is not yet further confirmation.

Apple could launch the intelligent speaker this year. His arrival coincides with the sixth birthday of Siri that debuted with the iPhone 4s.
