Apple opened today’s event by presenting the Apple Watch Series 4. The rumors and the leaks have been respected, the Cupertino company has in fact presented two new smartwatches with 40mm and 44mm quadrants respectively.
Apple Watch has been a huge success, becoming the # 1 smartwatch in the world. For millions of people, the device has become an indispensable tool in everyday life.
With a short video – which you’ll find immediately below – Apple has unveiled the new generation of its smartwatch.
We have already said that the dials are larger (40mm and 4mm), but the displays are also larger. The smaller model has a panel larger than 35% compared to the previous model, the largest one is 32%. The edges are rounded, and the frames are much thinner.
In consideration of this, the entire user interface has been redesigned. The dials have been renewed, now with much more information. For example, the Respira app is now available in a new Quadrant. There are also those with dynamic effects, which emulate water or flames (really well done).
The Digital Crown now integrates haptic feedback with vibration. The speaker guarantees a volume 50% higher than the Series 3 and has been repositioned, precisely on the right side. The lower part is now ceramic, ensuring greater reception.
The Apple S4 is the new 64-bit processor, a dual-core processor. There is also a new generation accelerometer and gyroscope. These process the data at a speed significantly higher than previous models. Thanks to these innovations, Apple Watch Series 4 can recognize a fall (from a stool, for example), allowing you to call for help automatically.
But the most interesting news concerns the functions for the heartbeat :
- Recognition of abnormalities in the heartbeat, such as a too slow beat.
- Analysis of cardiac rhythm in the background. This allows the detection of irregularities, such as atrial fibrillation.
- Electrocardiogram (ECG): Apple Watch Series 4 is the first ever product, aimed at consumers, to integrate this sensor. To perform an ECG, just place your finger on the digital crown, and it takes only 30 seconds.
All collected data is stored in the Health app and can be converted to PDF files so you can print or share it with your doctor, for example.
All these useful and important innovations have been approved by the FDA, which means that these data are reliable and have medical validity.
As for the battery, it is once again guaranteed a full day of autonomy.

For the GPS version, it will start from $ 399, while for the GPS + Cellular from $ 499. Apple Watch Series 4 can be booked from Friday, September 14th, and can be purchased from the 21st of the same month.
