The much anticipated iPhone 8, iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus represent the immediate future of Apple, but the company is already thinking about the upcoming devices. One of the latest patents registered in fact concerns a portable device with flexible OLED display , capable of folding in on itself, as a scroll.
The patent called ” Electronic devices with retractable displays ” describes a device characterized by two slots to “contain” the OLED display flexible when closed by the user. The drawings included in the patent are very reminiscent of a scroll.
Elements of the device, such as speakers, microphones and camera are included in the two chambers. When open, the display offers all the touchscreen features as we know them.
