Think of a digital crown (like that of Apple Watch) iPhone might seem absurd, but a new patent application published a few days ago shows that Apple has that idea.

Patently Apple has shared a patent application showing a ‘ rotary input devices ‘ on an iPad. As stated in the patent description, the rotational movement of the “crown” could be used to adjust the volume or size of the text, but the ‘device’ would also have the push-button function, which is useful to unlock / lock your iOS device and to take a picture.

And if Apple really branch out into the future iPhone and / or iPad with this particular feature? Have your say in the comments.
