The new ‌‌‌macOS Big Sur‌‌ 11.2‌ update can be downloaded for free on all eligible Macs using the Software Update section of System Preferences.

macOS Big Sur‌ 11.2 eliminates a feature that allowed Apple apps to bypass third-party firewalls, security tools, and VPN apps.

macOS Big Sur 11.2 improves Bluetooth reliability and addresses the following issues:

  • External monitors could show a black screen when connected to Mac mini (M1, 2020) via an HDMI to DVI adapter.
  • Changes to Apple ProRAW photos in the Photos app may not be saved.
  • iCloud Drive could turn off after disabling the iCloud Drive “Documents and Desktop Folders” option.
  • System Preferences may not unlock after entering the administrator password.
  • The Globe key may not show the “Emoji and Symbols” panel when pressed.
