According to a new report, the company led by Tim Cook would have shared some schemes of the Apple Car in Sanden.

In January 2020, an Apple parts manager informed Japanese car supplier Sanden that the company wanted to make the  Apple Car .

Nikkei Asia reveals that the representative of the Cupertino company shared with Sanden, a leading manufacturer of vehicle air conditioner parts, electric vehicle schematics and air conditioner parts. However, due to financial hardship exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, Sanden filed for debt restructuring with his creditors in June 2020 and Apple Car talks would be halted.

While the report doesn’t provide further details on the talks between the two companies, it lends further credit to Apple’s ambitions to make an electric vehicle.

In November 2021, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reported that Apple was speeding up work on the project and was aiming for an electric vehicle with full self-driving capabilities .

Gurman also said the company was aiming for a launch in 2025 , but the project has faced numerous setbacks over the years, so the launch could be delayed.
