The new Mac Mini has the same design as the previous model, but is powered by the brand new M1 chip with integrated graphics processor.

Mac mini is referred to by Apple as the most versatile computer in the entire range and now with M1 , it packs an impressive amount of performance and amazing new features into such a compact design.

M1 offers an 8-core CPU with up to 3x faster performance than the previous generation, greatly accelerating demanding workloads, from compiling one million lines of code to creating massive multitrack music projects. The 8-core GPU delivers an up to 6x increase in graphics performance, allowing the Mac mini to tackle performance-intensive tasks such as complex 3D rendering with ease.

ML workloads also leap forward with performance up to 15x faster than the previous generation. And compared to the best-selling Windows desktop in its price range, the Mac mini is only one-tenth the size, yet delivers up to 5x faster performance.

Thanks to the new M1 chip, the new Mac mini is much faster than its predecessor:

  • Compile code in Xcode up to 3x faster.
  • Play a graphics-intensive game like “Shadow of the Tomb Raider” with up to 4x higher frame rates.
  • Rendering a complex timeline in Final Cut Pro up to 6x faster.
  • Take music production to new heights by using up to 3x real-time plug-ins in Logic Pro.
  • Magically increase the resolution of a photo in Pixelmator Pro up to 15x faster.
  • Use ML frameworks like TensorFlow or Create ML, now accelerated by the M1 chip.

Mac mini also features an advanced thermal design to support its groundbreaking performance while remaining cool and quiet, support for up to two displays including Apple’s Pro Display XDR with full 6K resolution and Wi-Fi 6 for faster wireless performance and Secure M1 enclave for best-in-class security.

The new 13-inch MacBook Pro has a starting price of € 819. It is already possible to order the new machine on the Apple website, with the first shipments starting next week
