A new report from the Korea IT News newspaper suggests the two companies plan to sign a partnership agreement by March 2021.

More details have surfaced about Apple’s alleged interest in working on a self-driving electric car in partnership with Hyundai Motor.

Today’s report comes after a Hyundai spokesperson confirmed they were in talks with Apple over a potential Apple Car manufacturing deal:

“We know Apple is in discussions with a variety of global automakers, including Hyundai Motor. Since the discussion is in its initial phase, nothing has been decided yet ”.

Korea IT News says Hyundai and Apple aim to reach an agreement to produce autonomous electric cars in March 2021. Production could therefore start “as early as 2024 in the United States”. The report states that the two companies will build the cars at the Kia Motors factory in Georgia, or “jointly invest in a new factory in the United States.” Furthermore, the report also mentioned that a beta version of the Apple Car could be released in 2022.

The two companies hope to produce 100,000 vehicles in 2024 , eventually reaching an annual capacity of 400,000 vehicles.

However, the report is at odds with those released a few days ago by Bloomberg and Kuo. The site, in fact, stated that the much-rumoured Apple Car will only arrive on the market in 5 or 7 years, as it is still in the early stages of development, while the analyst said that it is unlikely that Apple will release the car before 2025. -2027.
