Apple today announced that customers worldwide have made this Christmas season the biggest ever for the App Store, setting new records during the weeks of Christmas and New Year.

In the two weeks that ended Jan. 3, customers spent more than $ 1.1 billion in the app and in-app purchases, setting records weekly consecutive in terms of traffic and purchases.
