A leaker has published what are allegedly images of a manual of an unreleased iPad Air, which shows a larger display and Touch ID integrated into the on / off button.

Photos of an alleged manual of an unreleased iPad Air surfaced this morning on various social media, suggesting that the next iPad could feature a full-screen display and Touch ID integrated into the power button.

Hailing from the Chinese social media platform Xiaohongshu and shared on Twitter by DuanRui , the photos depict a Spanish-language manual of an iPad Air with an edge-to-edge screen similar to the iPad Pro .

The manual does not mention the Face ID, since it speaks exclusively of this “ Touch ID integrated into the button at the top and which can also be used to unlock the iPad Air “. Also, the key should be longer than the current version.

On other pages, the manual refers to USB-C connectivity rather than Lightning and shows a Smart Connector on the back of the device for connecting a Magic Keyboard and other compatible accessories.

Several rumors suggest Apple will release a new iPad in the near future, but information leaked so far hasn’t revealed the exact model. DigiTimes  has suggested that a  10.8-inch iPad Air will arrive in the second half of 2020, while Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also expects Apple to release a 10.8-inch iPad in the second half of 2020.

However, the analyst did not specify whether the 10.8-inch iPad is an Air or a standard low-cost iPad.

If the manual proves accurate, this new iPad model would be the first Apple device to integrate Touch ID into the power button, and this new implementation would allow the company to build new devices with an edge-to-edge display without integrating Face ID. and, consequently, reduce production costs.
