We have repeatedly documented how the “Find My iPhone” has produced excellent results, going so far as to arrest the thieves. However the story of today is very different.
The main character is, or should I say was, Jeremy Cook, a young 18 year-old Ontario who had forgotten the iPhone in a taxi.
By leveraging the phone’s location, it arrived at an address, where he went with a relative. Just reached the place in an attempt to recover his phone, he found himself face to face with three armed men and was shot and died instantly.
Local police are investigating the murders and meanwhile issued a statement through which discourages people to take justice into their own or take advantage of location tools for finding lost objects independently, without then contact the police.
