The two non-Pro models will continue to use a notch display.

According to The Elec , the high-end iPhone 14 Pro models will feature a punch-hole display.

The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will reportedly be the two models to feature a perforated display, while the other two will continue to use a notched display.

The new display will allow Apple to provide a larger viewing area while still leaving room for the front camera. Should Apple adopt this design, the hardware for the Face ID will have to be moved under the display .

The Elec says Apple will purchase  LTPO OLED displays for the ‌iPhone 14‌ Pro models to enable refresh rates up to 120Hz, technology already used in this year’s iPhone 13 Pro models. Samsung has supplied the OLED panels Apple uses for the iPhone 13 Pro‌ models, but the Cupertino company may purchase some displays from LG Display in 2022.

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard of the arrival of the punch-sun display on the iPhone. In fact, in March, analyst Kuo stated that Apple plans to remove the notch from the iPhone 14 models.
