The company has started testing the new feature.

Earlier this month, we told you that Whatsapp had started testing the feature for making voice and video calls via its desktop app .

As reported by  WABetaInfo , the function has officially entered the beta test phase and will soon be available for all users. As we can see from the image below, there are new buttons dedicated to voice and video calls:

When receiving a voice or video call on WhatsApp Web / Desktop, we will be shown a separate window where you can accept or decline the incoming call. Once you accept, we will be able to decide whether or not to activate the camera and / or microphone of our computer.

Same goes for outgoing calls. Also in this case we will be shown a separate window, within which we can perform the same operations:

It is not yet known when the company will decide to release the new feature to all users, but it could arrive in a matter of weeks.
