From the first reviews made by journalists, it emerged that the gold version of the iPhone 12 Pro offers a huge advantage in terms of cleanliness over the other color options.

According to Matthew Panzarino of TechCrunch , the gold version of the device uses a different coating on the edges, thanks to which it is brighter and less prone to retain fingerprints.

From Review:

Most of the iPhone 12 Pro finishes still use a physical vapor deposition process for the edge coating. But the new gold uses a special high-powered process that places the coating in a super dense pattern, allowing it to be durable and super bright with a molecular structure that mimics the stainless steel underneath, making it more durable than PVD. As a result, the device is easier to clean and holds fewer fingerprints, something my blue model was definitely prone to.

Panzarino said the new coating is also “tougher” than that applied to the other color options of the iPhone 12 Pro, suggesting that the Gold version may be slightly less susceptible to scratches, cuts or other signs of wear.
