The app also arrives on Sony consoles.

For some time now, Apple has been expanding support for Apple TV across multiple platforms, such as smart TVs, to help its video streaming service reach a wider audience.

As promised by Sony last month, the Apple TV app is now available for download on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 via the PlayStation Store.

This follows today’s official launch of the PS5 in the United States, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea. The new console will be available in more countries starting November 19th (including Italy). However, users who own a PS4 can also get the app.

The app allows users to stream TV shows and movies from Apple TV +, Apple TV channels, and their iTunes libraries, as well as purchase or rent TV shows and movies from the iTunes Store. The app is already available on iPhone, iPad, Mac, PC, Apple TV, Roku devices, Amazon Fire TV, and select models of Samsung, LG, and Vizio smart TVs.
