According to a new report coming from South Korea, Samsung would be awarded a part of the production of displays for Apple Watch. But the most interesting news that emerges from the report is that the Cupertino giant is considering the idea of using the OLED display for the next iPhone, perhaps already with the iPhone 7 .
Apple Watch has an OLED display, much appreciated by the leaders of the California company. These displays were also widely used by manufacturers of Android smartphones, Samsung all.
Recently, it has been said that Apple might switch to using OLED display on iPhone from 2017 (with iPhone 7s maybe), but according ETNews time may be anticipated. Samsung would indeed provide samples of this type of screen that could potentially be used already on the iPhone 7. Apple could give its approval in November.
The partnership with Apple is obviously very important for Samsung, but will have to deal with other suppliers such as LG, which has produced some of the OLED displays for Apple Watch.
