During the Unpacked 2019 event held this evening in San Francisco, Samsung presented Galaxy Fold, the long-awaited folding smartphone. According to the South Korean giant, the Galaxy Fold is a powerful smartphone and a revolutionary all-in-one tablet, a device whose purpose is to challenge the industry.

Once folded, the Galaxy Fold has a 4.6 “display designed to fit the palm of a hand and when opened, the screen – Infinity Flex – reaches 7.3″ the size of a tablet in practice. The hinged opening and closing mechanism is well hidden under the display.

Samsung has partnered with Google to create apps optimized for the dual-screen folding smartphone, which supports a feature called App Continuity to keep the same apps open regardless of whether the Galaxy Fold is open or closed. With Google Maps, for example, in the closed mode you will see the map but, when the device is opened, you can see a lot more.

Inside, there’s a 7-nanometer processor and 12 GB of RAM, with Samsung describing it as one of the most powerful smartphones on the market. The battery is 4,380 mAh and consists of two parts positioned at the sides of the hinge.

Galaxy Fold has six cameras – three on the back, two on the inside and one on the front – which allows it to capture images regardless of the way it is folded.

Galaxy Fold will arrive in two versions: an LTE and a 5G. The price will start at $ 1,980 and will be available starting April 26th. It will be released with Apple AirPods competing for wireless headsets, the Galaxy Buds. For more information, I invite you to visit the official website available by clicking here.
