Samsung , Apple’s biggest rival, is likely to launch its first AI virtual assistant with his next top of the range smartphone, namely the Galaxy S8 . The virtual assistant should be based on technology obtained by the South Korean giant after ‘ acquisition of VIV.

VIV was founded by Dag Kittlaus, co-creator of Siri, the virtual assistant of Apple devices. Last month, Samsung has completed the acquisition of VIV with the intent to ensure for its future smart-device their own virtual assistant, which will compete with Siri, Google Assistant Alexa and Amazon.

According to reports from Reuters , Samsung plans to integrate the platform AI in its upcoming smartphone Galaxy series and expand the service also to the wearable devices.

Samsung hopes to integrate important news about its upcoming devices to try to leave behind this time particularly problematic in the smartphone market following the global recall of the Galaxy Note 7, which could cost the company 5.4 billion dollars in profits in the first quarter of 2017.
