The report says that the leaders of Japan Display are currently in talks with Apple to ensure the production of OLED displays for Melafonino the next few years, thus competing with Samsung Electronics and LG Display.

Japan Display, a joint venture founded in 2012 by Hitachi, Sony and Toshiba, is currently one of the leading suppliers of LCD display, next to the company Japanese rival Sharp. Apple uses LCD panels on the iPhone since the first model was launched in 2007.

OLED displays are able to provide clearer images and more accurate colors and brilliant than LCD, but also have a shorter service life and, above all, result in an increase in production costs.
