All owners of Apple devices will surely know iTunes. The application originally developed for the purchase and management of music then became the nerve center for syncing iPods and then iOS devices. But things could change soon.

From the “It’s Show Time” event at the end of March we found out that Apple will release a version of the Apple TV application also on macOS . But the news may not end here.

According to the developer Steve Troughton-Smith through a tweet, Apple would be working to bring to MacOS, with the next version 10.15 which should be announced in the keynote of the beginning WWDC, the new standalone applications of Podcast, Music and a new version of the ‘Books app.

Music and Podcasts are currently services that are included in iTunes and that will probably go on to get rid of them. As mentioned above iTunes was initially born as an application to manage music, and being Apple working on an app dedicated to Music and having already removed support for the management of Apps from iTunes for more than a year, iTunes could disappear completely.

The Apple TV, Music and Podcast applications will most likely be the result of the marzipan project, the same that allowed for carrying out the applications of Borsa, Casa and Memo Vocali introduced in macOS mojave on macOS.

Almost certainly we will not see “disappear” iTunes in its entirety, will surely remain the function for synchronizing iOS devices and old iPods, as well as the ability to physically backup iPhone and iPad on the Mac.
