We are almost certain about the new iPhone 8 which will have a OLED display. The OLED technology, compared to the LCD, provides deeper blacks, a feature that would marry perfectly with the much required Dark Mode on iOS. Taking into account these two aspects, a designer has created an interesting concept of Apple’s next top range smartphone.
The Vianney Le Masne designer explains that the Dark Mode can not simply reverse the white pixels with those blacks, especially when talking about the experience that could potentially provide an OLED display with virtually no frames. With this in mind, he has created a seemingly borderless design.
In addition, creating the design of the Dark Mode, Masne says that developers should start working from a “blackboard” dark, rather than a white. This would allow the interface to be dark edges, perfectly marrying the OLED display that almost certainly will have iPhone 8.
The mockup of Masne represents very well thoughts. The combination of a black smartphone, the OLED display and the Dark Mode gives life to a very interesting smartphone.
The concept will also notice the presence of the much-rumored “function area” in the bottom of the display. The only part not usable in the front of the smartphone is the top frame, which does not seem to spoil the aesthetics of the smartphone.
Here is the concept of the video:
