According to the ranking published by IHS Markit, the iPhone 7 was the best-selling smartphone in the first half of 2017, followed by its “big brother” or the iPhone 7 Plus.
Apple released the iPhone 7 last year in September, recording a good number of sales in the last fiscal quarter. According to the ranking published by IHS Markit, however, its real success was only found in the first half of 2017, when it was the best-selling smartphone ever. In fact, both the iPhone and all the other Android smartphones on the market were considered in the ranking.
According to the rankings, therefore, the iPhone 7 has been the best-selling smartphone in the first six months of this year, followed directly by iPhone 7 Plus. The predominance of the Plus model found in the first months after the release of the market was therefore inverted little after. In the third place, however, we find a smartphone of the competition, namely the Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime Plus. It is a mid-low band device, dedicated to another type of customer with completely different needs.
After the “podium” we still find another iPhone to occupy fourth place, more precisely the 2015 iPhone 6s. Subsequently, however, are the new top Samsung range, the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus respectively in fifth and sixth place .
Despite this important result recorded by Apple, IHS Market shows us how the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus had higher numbers than the previous year. The market share acquired by iPhone 6 and 6 Plus has not yet been beaten by successive models, in fact it has fallen from 10% to 5% this year.
