This year, Apple changed the position of “CE” on the new iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro models.

The iPhone 12 and 12 Pro models sold in the US market have no visible regulatory symbols, as the country allows this information to be relegated to the Settings app on devices thanks to the E-Label Act passed in 2014.

In Europe, however, regulatory approvals must be visible on the device itself . In the past, Apple has placed the necessary symbols on the back of the iPhone, but this year European models have laser-etched regulatory information on the lower right side of the device.

The engraving includes the “CE” symbol, which certifies that the device complies with health, safety and environmental protection standards for products sold within Europe. Most products sold on the continent are required to meet the legal requirements for CE marking and must be displayed.
