The results show that Apple is not immune to changing market dynamics and consumer demand. Some of this decline, however, is determined by the success of other product lines.

The introduction of iPad Pro has driven up prices and contributed to pause the loss of revenues in nine quarters. Now, however, revenue from new tablet make record losses.

Apple reported a profit of $ 3.8 billion from the iPad in the first quarter. Last year, during the same period, the net profit was 4.4 billion dollars.

After the boom in sales in the first three years after the launch of the iPad, according to IDC consumers they depend almost exclusively by smartphones and have lost interest in buying or update the tablet.

Apple has reported a 24.6% share in the tablet market. This means that practically a tablet in four in the world, is an iPad. In second place was Samsung with about 6 million shipments for a 16.5% market share.

Huawei was the only company to record an increase of shipments going from 2 million to 2.7 million units shipped.
