Apple unveiled the new iPad Air with the M1 chip , offering a huge leap in performance.
Available in a new range of colors, iPad Air also includes the new Ultra Wide Front Camera with Auto Framing for a more natural video conferencing experience, a USB-C port with up to 2x faster transfer speeds, and blazing-fast 5G on models cellular.
Advanced cameras and compatibility with the latest accessories enable users, including content creators, gamers and students, to push the boundaries of creativity, productivity and self-expression. The new iPad Air is available for order starting Friday 11 March and will be in stores starting Friday 18 March .

M1 brings a huge leap forward in iPad Air performance
The innovative M1 chip delivers a huge performance boost to even the most demanding apps and workflows, with incredible energy efficiency and all-day battery life.
The 8-core CPU delivers up to 60% faster performance and the 8-core GPU delivers up to 2x faster graphics performance than the previous iPad Air. Combined with the CPU and GPU, a 16-core Neural Engine powers advanced machine learning (ML) features that enable next-level experiences. From editing multiple streams of 4K video, to playing graphics-intensive games, redesigning a room in 3D, and more realistic augmented reality (AR), the M1’s performance enables users to do more than ever with iPad Air.

The 12MP Ultra Wide Front Camera with Auto Framing always keeps the user in the center of the scene, even as they move. When others join in, the camera detects them and gently zooms them out to include them in the conversation. So whether it’s connecting with loved ones or learning from a distance, Auto Framing makes connecting more engaging than ever.
With the addition of the function to iPad Air, all iPad models now offer this magical experience.
