A few hours ago the beta 2 of iOS 15.4 was released introducing support for the new feature unveiled today by Apple.
This is Tap to Pay, a sensational novelty that potentially transforms every iPhone into a POS, capable of accepting payments via Apple Pay and contactless credit cards.
The service will initially be activated only in the United States and although at this time it is not yet possible to use it due to the lack of supported applications, the “contactlessReaderUIService” framework has been found within the iOS code with various strings through which we can tell you that this system will also support the use of Gift Cards and refunds.
Among the strings , Apple already provides instructions for using the Tap to Play payment system. A black space with the NFC symbol will appear at the top of the screen and an inscription will invite the user to bring the card or smartphone to this section until the sound of payment is heard.
