Apple patents a sophisticated multidimensional architecture that ensures that the device works optimally without endangering the user.

The US Patent & Trademark Office has published a patent application from Apple for a 5G NR Sub-6 GHz Wireless architecture designed for human safety.

The patent relates to radiofrequency systems used for wireless data communication between devices and / or a network, and mainly revolves around 5G NR mmWave and sub-6 GHz wireless technology.

These radio frequency systems emit wireless signals to facilitate data transfer. Sometimes, however, the signals can be absorbed by a user near the device

The rate at which these signals can be absorbed by the human body is governed by a maximum allowable exposure limit (MPE) for mmWave 5G NR systems and a specific absorption rate (SAR) set for sub-6 GHz systems.

To ensure compliance with MPE and SAR, devices often emit less than maximum output energy when they detect someone’s presence. This is where the problem arises, as many radio frequency systems are unable to detect the presence of a person nearby . As a result, some devices always output less than maximum output power. This leads to a reduction in the speed of wireless communication .

For this reason, Apple has created a multidimensional architecture to make sure that devices always perform optimally without putting the user at risk.

The radio frequency system can perform a comparison between the transmitted 5G NR signal and the reflected signal to determine if the human body is in close proximity to the device. In this example, the radio frequency system can adjust its output power to meet the maximum allowable exposure limit.

It is highly unlikely that this technology will be used on the iPhone 12 line, as, according to some rumors, Apple has already started production of the new models.

Some sources in the supply chain say mass production of the sub-6 GHz 5G models will only begin in November, while the iPhone 12 Pro Max, the only model that is expected to support the faster 5G mmWave, will go into mass production. in December.

According to leaker Jon Prosser, the iPhone event will be held on October 13, with pre-orders of the new devices starting on October 16, while shipments and in-store sales will start on October 23.
